This is no ordinary opportunity. As part of the pre-opening team, our Assistant Restaurant Manager will play a key role in shaping the guest experience at our brasserie from day one. You’ll help recruit, train, and lead a passionate restaurant team, ensuring every service reflects our REAL People values.

About You and The Role

As Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Newman, you will:

• Bring our REAL People values to life—Responsible, Energised, Approachable, and Local.
• Support the Restaurant Manager in leading daily operations, ensuring smooth service and memorable guest experiences.
• Create a positive, high-performing environment by motivating and supporting your team.
• Help recruit, train, and develop the restaurant team while managing schedules and end-of-shift procedures.
• Ensure high standards of safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency across the restaurant.
• Monitor budgets and costs, reduce waste, and support the overall financial performance.
• Build great relationships with guests and the local community, supporting marketing and promotional activity.
• Bring experience in a high-volume or premium casual dining setting, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

The Newman will offer 81 rooms and suites, including a luxurious rooftop signature suite with a private terrace and dedicated wellness area. Guests can enjoy our all-day brasserie serving dishes inspired by Northern European flavours and Gambit Bar, offering a range of cocktails and local craft beers, the hotel also features an entire floor dedicated to Wellness.
